- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
- Pour apple mixture into the pie crust.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, butter, and oats.
- Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let cool completely before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier version, use whole wheat flour and reduce the amount of sugar.
