Description

These black cocoa Halloween cookies are perfect for a spooky treat. They are rich, chocolatey, and easy to make.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup black cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, black cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Optional: Add Halloween sprinkles.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are set.
  9. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
