- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 ounce) can corn, drained
- 1 packet chili seasoning
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add onion, garlic, and green bell pepper to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, black beans, corn, chili seasoning, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Adjust chili seasoning to your taste.
- Add a can of diced tomatoes for a chunkier chili.
- Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or green onions.
