Description

This chili recipe is hearty and full of flavor. Perfect for a cold night or a crowd.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can corn, drained
  • 1 packet chili seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and green bell pepper to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, black beans, corn, chili seasoning, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a simmer and cook for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Adjust chili seasoning to your taste.
  • Add a can of diced tomatoes for a chunkier chili.
  • Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or green onions.
