Description

Treat yourself to the ultimate guilty pleasure with these 5-minute Cinnamon Apples. Sizzling in a buttery, brown sugar glaze, these apples are basically apple pie in a skillet—minus the effort. It’s warm, gooey, and unapologetically indulgent. Perfect for topping vanilla ice cream, fluffy pancakes, or eating straight out of the pan.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (Fuji, Gala, or Granny Smith), cored and sliced or cubed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (or granulated)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp water (optional, for steam)
  • Optional: Dash of nutmeg or vanilla extract 

Instructions

  1. Melt & Sauté: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Combine: Add apple slices, brown sugar, and cinnamon to the skillet. Stir until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Simmer: Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized.
  4. Optional Softening: For extra soft, saucy apples, add a splash of water, cover the skillet, and let them steam for 1–2 minutes. 

Notes

  • Healthier Twist: Use coconut oil instead of butter, and maple syrup or a sugar substitute instead of brown sugar.
  • Even Faster: For a 2-minute version, combine 1 chopped apple, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp water, and 1/4 tsp cinnamon in a microwave-safe bag and microwave for 2 minutes.
  • Air Fryer Method: Toss 4 sliced apples with 2 tbsp melted butter, 2 tbsp sugar, and 1 tsp cinnamon. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes.
