Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12-ounce) package fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Crackers or baguette slices for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine cranberries, sugar, water, orange juice, and orange zest in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until cranberries have burst and the mixture has thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  4. Stir in chopped nuts, if using.
  5. Serve with crackers or baguette slices.

Notes

  • For a smoother dip, pulse the cooled cranberry mixture in a food processor until desired consistency is reached.
