Description

Creamy homemade Alfredo sauce with tender seasoned chicken served inside warm, crusty bread bowls for the ultimate comforting and impressive dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 large round bread loaves (sourdough or Italian)
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut a circle around the top of each bread loaf and hollow out the center, leaving about 1/2 inch thick walls. Place bread bowls on a baking sheet.
  3. Pat chicken dry. Mix garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, then rub evenly over the chicken.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 6–7 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove, rest 5 minutes, then slice.
  5. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
  7. Add nutmeg if desired and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Divide sliced chicken evenly into each bread bowl. Pour hot Alfredo sauce over the chicken to fill generously.
  9. Bake filled bread bowls for 5–7 minutes until slightly crispy on the outside and heated through.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
  • Keep sauce at a gentle simmer to prevent curdling.
  • Do not overfill the bread bowls to avoid sogginess.
