- 8 ounces pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in diced tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
Notes
- Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- Add protein such as grilled chicken or shrimp.
- Use different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or ricotta.
- For a richer flavor, use tomato sauce instead of diced tomatoes.
