- 1 loaf stale bread, cubed
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in sage, thyme, and pepper.
- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and cooked vegetables.
- Pour chicken broth over bread mixture and toss to combine.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
- Use any type of bread you like, such as sourdough, French bread, or white bread.
- Add other vegetables, such as mushrooms or carrots.
