Description

Frankensushi, or Frankenstein sushi rolls, are a fun and creative twist on traditional sushi. These rolls embrace unconventional ingredients and playful presentations.

Ingredients

  • Cooked sushi rice
  • Nori seaweed sheets
  • Assorted fillings: avocado, cucumber, carrots, bell peppers, cooked shrimp, smoked salmon, cream cheese, cooked chicken
  • Optional: Wasabi, soy sauce, pickled ginger

Instructions

  1. Prepare your sushi rice according to package instructions.
  2. Lay a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi rolling mat.
  3. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the nori sheet.
  4. Arrange your chosen fillings across the center of the rice.
  5. Using the bamboo mat, tightly roll the sushi into a log shape.
  6. Cut the roll into bite-sized pieces with a sharp knife.
  7. Serve with wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger.

Notes

  • Get creative with your fillings – experiment with different flavors and textures.
  • Use a wet knife to prevent the rice from sticking when cutting the rolls.
  • For a vegetarian option, use tofu or extra vegetables.
  • Enjoy your Frankensushi immediately for the best flavor and texture.
