Simple and flavorful vegan bread for game day.
Ingredients

- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat all sides. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and shape into a loaf.
- Place loaf in a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a softer crust, brush the top of the loaf with melted vegan butter after baking.
- Add herbs or spices to the dough for extra flavor.
