Description

These Halloween meatballs are a spooky and delicious appetizer. Perfect for your Halloween party.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup black olive slices
  • Mozzarella cheese balls

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix well and form into 1-inch meatballs.
  4. Place meatballs on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  6. While meatballs are baking, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan.
  7. Add meatballs to marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. To assemble, place a meatball on a plate.
  9. Top with a mozzarella cheese ball ‘eye’ and a black olive slice ‘pupil’.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use ground turkey or chicken instead of ground beef.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
  • Serve with toothpicks for easy handling.
