Description

Make these classic lemon squares for a sweet and tart treat. They are perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, butter, and powdered sugar until crumbly.
  3. Press mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 8×8 inch baking pan.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  5. In another bowl, whisk eggs, granulated sugar, lemon juice, flour, and baking powder until smooth.
  6. Pour over the baked crust.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until set.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense lemon flavor, add lemon zest to the filling.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
