Description

Prepare this marinated cheese for an easy and flavorful appetizer. It’s perfect for gatherings or a simple snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces block cheese, such as mozzarella or provolone, cubed
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the cubed cheese, olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
  2. Mix gently to ensure the cheese is well coated.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Before serving, let the marinated cheese sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  5. Serve with crackers or bread.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the level of spiciness.
  • For best flavor, marinate the cheese overnight.
