Classic meatloaf recipe with a sweet and tangy brown sugar glaze.

- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, onion, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, and mustard for the glaze.
- Spread the glaze evenly over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until cooked through and the glaze is bubbly.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can use ground turkey or chicken instead of ground beef.
- Add your favorite spices to the meatloaf mixture, such as garlic powder or Worcestershire sauce.
- For a moister meatloaf, add a grated carrot or zucchini to the mixture.
