Description
This one-pan parmesan orzo with shrimp is a quick and easy weeknight meal. You will love the creamy texture and flavorful combination.

- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add orzo and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, or until orzo is almost tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until pink and cooked through.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.
- For a spicier dish, add more red pepper flakes.
- Add other vegetables, such as spinach or asparagus.
