- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 box (14.1 ounces) yellow cake mix
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Mix well.
- Pour pumpkin mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the pumpkin mixture.
- Sprinkle nuts (if using) over the cake mix.
- Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of melted butter.
- Add chocolate chips to the cake mix for a chocolate pumpkin dessert.
