Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground meat

- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter

- In a large skillet, brown ground meat over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and carrots to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in frozen peas, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
- Transfer meat mixture to a baking dish.
- Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the meat mixture. Dot with butter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a layer of cheese between the meat mixture and mashed potatoes.
- You can use ground lamb instead of ground meat for a more traditional shepherd’s pie.
