- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter, unfed/discard
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Mix well.
- Stir in the sourdough starter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a fudgier brownie, slightly underbake.
