- 4 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Topping: 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
- Pour mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and pecans. Mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle topping evenly over sweet potato mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until topping is golden brown and casserole is set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother casserole, use an electric mixer to combine ingredients.
- You can substitute walnuts for pecans in the topping.
