Description

Stuffed bell peppers are a simple and delicious meal. This recipe is easy to follow and perfect for a family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 bell peppers (any color)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  4. Stir in the cooked rice, onion, 1/2 cup of tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Fill each bell pepper with the ground beef mixture.
  6. Place the stuffed bell peppers in a baking dish and pour the remaining tomato sauce over the top.
  7. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top.
  9. Bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • You can use any type of ground meat, such as ground turkey or ground chicken.
  • Add other vegetables to the ground beef mixture, such as diced carrots, celery, or zucchini.
  • Use different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or Monterey Jack.
  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the ground beef mixture.
