  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce

  4. On a large sheet of parchment paper, flatten the meat mixture into a large rectangle, about 1 inch thick.

  6. Carefully roll the meatloaf up tightly, starting from one end. Pinch the seams to seal.
  7. Brush the outside of the meatloaf with olive oil.
  8. Place the meatloaf on a baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  10. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
  11. Serve with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • You can substitute the mozzarella cheese with provolone or any other cheese you like.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables to the meatloaf, such as chopped onions or bell peppers.
  • For a spicier meatloaf, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
