- 1 loaf bread, cubed
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh sage, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine toasted bread cubes, cooked onion and celery mixture, salt, pepper, parsley, and sage.
- Pour chicken broth over the bread mixture and toss gently to combine.
- Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
- Use day-old bread for best results.
- Add sausage or other meats for extra flavor.
- Adjust the amount of chicken broth for desired moisture.
