- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add heavy cream, melted butter, sour cream, and garlic to the pot.
- Mash potatoes until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or roasted garlic.
- You can substitute milk or half-and-half for heavy cream, but the potatoes will not be as rich.
- Mashed potatoes can be made ahead of time and reheated.
