Description
This sweet potato casserole is a holiday favorite. It is easy to make and tastes delicious.

- 4 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
- Pour sweet potato mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine pecan halves, brown sugar, and flour. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle pecan mixture evenly over sweet potato mixture.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until topping is golden brown and casserole is heated through.
Notes
- For a smoother casserole, use an electric mixer to combine ingredients.
- You can substitute pecans with walnuts or other nuts.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the sweet potato mixture for extra flavor.
