Description

Tornado Potatoes are a fun and flavorful snack. You can easily make these crispy, swirled potatoes at home with simple ingredients and a few easy steps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the potatoes.
  2. Thread each potato onto a wooden skewer.
  3. Use a sharp knife to spiral-cut each potato, creating a tornado shape.
  4. Gently stretch out the potato spiral along the skewer.
  5. Brush the potatoes with olive oil.
  6. Sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Alternatively, air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your Tornado Potatoes!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add other seasonings like onion powder, chili powder, or parmesan cheese.
  • Soak the skewered potatoes in ice water for 30 minutes before cooking for extra crispiness.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ketchup, ranch, or sriracha mayo.
